3D Printing

3D printing lets us make certain dental appliances and surgical guides in-house — which means faster turnarounds and better fit than sending to an outside lab.

What we use it for

Common uses include:

  • Surgical guides for dental implant placement
  • Night guards and bleaching trays
  • Temporary crowns and partials
  • Orthodontic models for treatment planning

How it works

The process starts with a digital scan of your teeth — no physical impressions needed. The scan data is converted into a 3D model and sent to the printer. Depending on what’s being made, the appliance may be ready the same day.

For surgical procedures like bone grafting or implant placement, a 3D-printed guide helps us position instruments precisely, which reduces procedure time and improves accuracy.

Questions

Does 3D printing cost more?

In many cases it’s faster and the same cost or less than lab-fabricated alternatives. We’ll give you a clear breakdown at your consultation.

Can kids have 3D models made?

Yes. We use digital scanning for pediatric patients undergoing orthodontic treatment when models are needed.
